Made With Love exists to create heirlooms through scrapbooks, portraits, and keepsakes for families, couples, and friends so that your most meaningful memories live on - not locked in a phone, but held in your hands.

Since it’s invention, photography has been used to remember and honor loved ones. A tintype of a wife in a soldier’s pocket, a portrait of a young grandfather, a scrapbook charting a family’s joy and growth.

History

  • Long before the success of the first camera, people imagined such a tool. The ability to freeze a moment, the chance to capture a loved one’s beauty was finally imagined with the Daguerreotype in 1839.

  • By the 1850’s the invention of wet plates and foldable cameras allowed the public to record their family in a still image at portrait studios.

  • In the early 1900’s through the 1940’s, commercial photography and portrait studios had an added level of importance. What may have began as a souvenir photos, evolved into lifelines for many, particularly families separated by war.

  • Overlapping the Postcard boom was the invention of Film. Kodak was the first camera that was commercially sold allowing the public to take their own family photos.

  • Digital Cameras became available in the Late 1980’s. Eliminating film, chemicals, and waiting periods.

  • In 2010 cameras were added to smartphones. Shoots, editing, and sharing all could be done in a few simple clicks. The art of physical photography and keepsakes began to fade.

  • What began as a passion for photography has evolved into a mission of honoring those we love. Cultivating in the establishment of Made With Love in 2026. Our goal is to make family archives and portraits more accessible, physical, and beautiful.
